KARACHI: An anti terrorism court on Tuesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for three absconders in the Ali Raza Abidi murder case, ARY News reported.
The absconding suspects are Hasnain, Bilal and Ghulam Mustafa. The court ordered the police to arrest the suspects and produce them before the court in the next hearing. According to sources, the suspects were young as seen in the photo fits.
Police said other suspects had already been arrested including Muhammad Farooq, Muhammad Ghazali, Abu Bakar and Abdul Aziz.
The investigators further revealed that the attackers were paid Rs 800,000 to kill the Mutahidda Qaumi Movement-Pakistan leader.
A bike used in the crime was also set on fire by the suspects to evade arrest.
Police on March 20 had submitted a final challan in the anti-terrorism court (ATC) in the case. The investigators included confessional statements of suspects in the challan, and termed the confession a ‘big achievement’.
Police said four suspects were arrested in the case, while four others were absconding and 12 witnesses had recorded their statement.
The arrested suspects had confessed to the crime, police claim.
Former Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) lawmaker Ali Raza Abidi was gunned down last year on Dec 25 outside his residence in Defence Housing Authority.
