KARACHI: The dead body of the Pakistani prisoner Noorul Islam, who was tortured to death at an Indian jail, was shifted to Karachi, ARY News reported on Thursday.
Authorities have shifted the dead body of a Pakistani fisherman Noorul Islam to his residence situated in Ibrahim Hyderi neighbourhood of Karachi’s Korangi area.
Relatives and neighbours of the deceased fisherman expressed severe outrage and raised anti-India slogans upon arrival of the dead body.
Relatives said that Noorul Islam was allegedly killed at Gujrat jail.
It is pertinent to mention here that Noorul Islam had been taken into custody by the Indian forces over mistakenly entering into Indian waters in 2017.
The reports for the Pakistani inmate’s death had emerged on March 28 who had lost his after being brutally subjected to torture by the prison staff, a month after death of Shakirullah, who was stoned to death by other inmates at Rajasthan’s Jaipur Central Jail in February.
Despite Pakistan’s several steps of peace gesture including release of captured pilot Abhinandan and letting mother of Kulbhushan Jadhav to meet him at the foreign office, last year, the Indian side is continuing its aggression.
On March 7, despite completing his jail term three years ago, another Pakistani inmate Muhammad Azam,62, had passed away in an Indian hospital.
