“I am deeply fallen in love with the people here due to their support and passion for cricket. It really pulls me to visit this country time and again,” Sammy said while talking to the HBL PSL 2019 website.
The double ICC World Twenty20 winning West Indies captain said that he has a special bond with Pakistan hence he is once again ready to tour Pakistan to play the matches of the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
“I am excited to meet hospitable people of Pakistan once again and more importantly to show some cricketing action before them,” said Sammy who also acknowledged PSL for the revival of International cricket in Pakistan.
The right-handed hard-hitting batsman said that the PSL has changed the standards of Pakistan’s cricket by bringing some top notch young players like Sameen Gul, Ibtisam Sheikh, Umer Khan, Ghulam Mudassir in the limelight. He was quick to praise the young talent of the country who hustle for a strong approach and have the ability to represent Pakistan strongly at international platforms.
“The young players came out from PSL not only represented Pakistan but also prove their mettle in different leagues around the world,” said Sammy who played 38 Tests, 126 ODIs and 68 T20Is for the West Indies.
