Rizwan while talking to the media said that lack of facilities was the reason behind their poor performance in the recently concluded world cup.
“Our participation was not confirmed until the last moment and we didn’t get proper training so then what else you can expect,” he said.
Rizwan said that blaming only senior players is not right as they all are equally responsible for their debacle in the mega event.
“Not only senior players are responsible for such performance but every single person who was involved with us including government,” said Rizwan.
Skipper thinks that appointing a foreign coach can make a difference in their performance and the federation should take this matter under consideration.
“Foreign coach can help us improve our game,” he stated.
Rizwan said that pro-league in February next year is the last chance for them to qualify for the Olympics 2020 in Tokyo.
“Next year’s hockey pro league is important for us as far as Olympic qualification is concerned,” he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that team manager Hasan Sardar, head coach Tauqeer Dar and assistant coaches Danish Kaleem and Rehan Butt following the team’s abysmal performance in the world cup.
