KARACHI: The executive director of Darul Sehat Hospital appeared before a committee formed by the Sindh government to probe death of a minor girl who got paralysed after being administered wrong injection by the hospital management, ARY News reported Tuesday.
Shehzad Alam, the executive director, appeared before the committee chaired by Dr. Jamal Raza.
The committee questioned the director about condition of the child, and the incident that drew strong criticism on the hospital.
The committee grilled the top official of the hospital for over an hour.
Earlier in the day, another citizen has approached the police to file a case against the hospital administration for death of his wife.
The application was submitted at the Shahrah-e-Faisal Police Station. He pleaded in his application that his wife breathed her last 17 days after she was admitted to the hospital over improper treatment.
He said a case should be registered against the hospital management forthwith.
Yesterday, father of nine-month-old baby, who got paralysed after being administered wrong injection, had filed FIR at the Shahrah-e-Faisal police station.
According to the FIR, high dosage of medicine was administered to Nishwa, the baby, worsening her condition.
It added that the hospital administration has acknowledged its mistake, the FIR read.
